South Valley Clinic: Covid -19 Information and Protocols
Physiotherapists are an essential service. We are open and operating in Geelong.
As an allied health practice here in Geelong, South Valley Clinic is classified as an essential service provider under the Health Care banner, and all our services are available.
We are following all the recommendations of the federal and state chief medical officers and our professional associations with regard to infection control and prevention.
Please assist by not coming to the clinic and advising us by phone if you:
are unwell with any cold and flu-like symptoms,
have yourself recently, or have a family member, returned from overseas or interstate,
or had any contact with a known case of COVID -19 infection.
When attending the clinic, please enter the clinic at your scheduled appointment time. We request that if you do arrive early, that you wait outside in your car until your appointment time. We are aiming to run as accurately to time as possible to minimise the number of people, and time spent, in the waiting room.
When entering the clinic, please use the hand sanitisation station immediately inside the main entrance.
The waiting room has been reorganised to maintain social distancing requirements.
Importantly, please observe this at the reception desk by remaining behind the blue line and not leaning or placing personal belongings on the counter.
Our consulting rooms are kept clean, and treatment table and chairs are disinfected, and towels removed and laundered following every treatment.
If you would prefer your practitioner to wear PPE, such as masks or gloves, please request this either when telephoning or upon arrival.
We are introducing new remote services for physiotherapy such as phone consultations, video consultations and exercise sessions. There will be no charge for an initial 15-minute telehealth phone consultation. These services are expected to be available after Easter.
